Reminder: Money orders must be payable to JPay

We want to make sure that if you send us a money order to be processed that we can do just that – process it.  So please make sure you follow the guidelines, which includes making sure all money orders and cashier’s checks are payable to JPay.

Feel free to include the recipient’s name or ID number on the “memo” or “used for” line, but the “payable” section of any money order or cashier’s check MUST be made out to JPay.  Money orders made payable to anyone other than JPay will be denied and returned to you by mail.

Hi Deshawnda – A money order can be purchased at any location that has that service available. To send it, you must visit our website at At the bottom of the page click the option SEND MONEY. Scroll to the bottom of that page and click “LEARN” more about JPay money order. A list of Department of Corrections that accepts money order is listed, as well as the money order deposit slip that should be completed. The address where the money order should be sent is also listed on the money Order deposit slip.

At this time Money order is not available in Michigan Department of corrections. Thanks!

Will JPay ever extend the time on tne Video grams 30 seconds just isn’t enough time to say very much.
May you could charge extra stamps for 60 seconds or even 5 minutes I’m sure you will get a high response for that feature

Hi Douglas – Your loved one has probably been transferred since you last spoke to him. If he is in the process of being transferred to a new facility, his inmate ID number may not have populated in the results. For more information, please email and our Customer Service team will look into your account and see what is causing the issue. Thanks!

Thanks for the answer I’ll send money one of those ways you mentioned. I am concerned that there is a charge based on how much money one sends I just do not understand why sending 20 dollars is 3.95 and sending 200.00 is 11.95 what is the difference, other than the amount I want to send. While I realize you need to make money to stay in business, it is a hardship for some of us and every penny is needed. Just an observation I am sure others would like to know as well. Thanks again for the reply and the answer you gave me on sending money to my friend.
