Reminder: Money orders must be payable to JPay

We want to make sure that if you send us a money order to be processed that we can do just that – process it.  So please make sure you follow the guidelines, which includes making sure all money orders and cashier’s checks are payable to JPay.

Feel free to include the recipient’s name or ID number on the “memo” or “used for” line, but the “payable” section of any money order or cashier’s check MUST be made out to JPay.  Money orders made payable to anyone other than JPay will be denied and returned to you by mail.

Hi Deshawnda – A money order can be purchased at any location that has that service available. To send it, you must visit our website at http://www.JPay.com. At the bottom of the page click the option SEND MONEY. Scroll to the bottom of that page and click “LEARN” more about JPay money order. A list of Department of Corrections that accepts money order is listed, as well as the money order deposit slip that should be completed. The address where the money order should be sent is also listed on the money Order deposit slip.

At this time Money order is not available in Michigan Department of corrections. Thanks!
