Prisoners Sending E-Cards Actually Makes A Lot Of Sense

Thought e-cards were a thing of the past? Think again. Filling a void found in many prisons, JPay has made digital greeting cards “en vogue” again. Pick a design, customize a message, attach to an email –and you’ve got instantaneous communication versus traditional mail. For about 35 cents each, less than the cost of an envelope and stamp, incarcerated individuals and their loved ones can choose from about 30 designs – making saying “I Miss You” or “Happy Birthday” faster and a whole lot easier.

Hi Sandy – We apologize for any confusion. At this time you can only attach an eCard in Missouri Department of Corrections via email. However, you can attach a photo through the Snap’n Send option which is also available from the JPay mobile app. Thanks!

Hi Mitzi – At this time, JPay only offers money transfer in Oklahoma. In regards to your card question, generally, you can use any Visa or MasterCard branded debit or credit card to send money to your loved one. Using a debit card is usually the best and cheapest option. Anonymous prepaid cards and gift cards are not accepted. However, if you use a prepaid card that allows you to register your address and/or zip code with the issuer, then that card will be accepted as long as you have registered your information. For example, if you want to use a Green Dot prepaid card to send money with JPay, first go to http://www.greendot.com, click “Register a New Card,” and follow the steps. Thanks!

Hello, I have a son and Jackie Brannon correctional facility in Oklahoma, What kind of cards can I buy at Walmart to put money on so that I can send him a Phone time money and commissary money? There’s so many of them I get confused and which ones would be best. If you know of one that I could get that doesn’t charge me to have it each month or do use it each time I would appreciate any input you have. I cannot do it from my debit card any longer.
Is there a kiosk machine that they have in Jackie Brannon Correctional facility by chance? It will be so nice to be able to e mail or video chat. Thank you so much you have a blessed day! 😊

Hi K – Your loved one must check their designated kiosk regularly to find out if they have messages awaiting. They are not notified by staff if they’ve received emails. Thanks!

I’ve emailed my brother for the first time, and am new to this jpay service. Will he be notified somehow that he has an email? I honestly don’t know if he’s ever used a jpay kiosk. Anyone know how it works on their side? It’s his birthday, and I was hoping he would get it soon.
