And the Winners Are!

The time has come to announce the JPay Holiday Art Contest winners. This year we received over 50 submissions from more than 13 states and the designs were truly a creative display of spreading peace during the holiday season. We would like to thank everyone that took the time to enter this year’s contest… we really enjoyed your talents.

The decision was tough…. but without further ado, we’re happy to present the winning designs for the 2016 Holiday Art Contest. Thank you for all your excellent contributions and stay tuned for the next contest from JPay!

These comment about the subject of “Christmas” in this art contest is ridiculous. These inmates are finding ways to express themselves, doing something constructive with their time. I mean, damn people… most of those who complain about the content of their artwork (weather it represent what you believe or not), are guilty of the entire Commercialism of Christmas throughout the world. The entire concept of christmas is rooted in Paganism. And how do you tell someone else how to represent themselves and their views. Shame on all of you, let these inmates be constructive with their time!

I Love all 3 of the winners drawings but I fail to see how the 1st one that won had anything to do with what we call Christmas ,some call Holidays …Do not get me wrong I do love the colors and vibrancy of the art . All done so well.

I think that is such a great idea to give the inmates opportunities to be able to spend time on a project and give them a chance to be rewarded for their efforts and artwork. I think there should be more contests. The prizes they could be rewarded with are endless. Should have many place winnings so at least a good number of entries receive some sort of prize. Even if it were just a cup of noodles… They would be more than grateful I’m sure ! That’s amazing you guys are doing this for our loved ones who are incarcerated. Thank you so much !

If a person won an art award from entering this contest before in another year, can they re-enter again in this year of 2017?

I just viewed all of the entries on the JPay Facebook page and I am thoroughly impressed. I only wish I knew the names of the inmates who created these masterpieces so that I could write each of them a note of encouragement to continue pursuing their talent, and that just because they may not have won, does not mean their efforts were overlooked. This was really great of JPay to offer the contest. I would like to see JPay do this for every major holiday. The artwork really moved me because of the passion they put into their entries. Simply great!!!

To the facility there that makes these creatives possible to do while serving their time, so ‘all is not lost’, “I thank you for this opportunity you’ve given those who desire to do so.” Lynda Christopher
