IMPORTANT – New limit on MoneyGram deposits starting 1/5

Effective January 5, 2017, there will be a new maximum limit of $3,000.00 for all MoneyGram transactions. Previously, this limit was $5,000.00 per transaction. This means that the MAXIMUM amount that can be transferred through MoneyGram at any one time will be $3,000.  Please be aware any other deposit/money transfer policies in place still apply in each state.

All other ways to send money through JPay have not changed.  If you currently use JPay.com, the JPay mobile app, the JPay call center, or money orders to send money, the pre-established limits on those transactions remain the same.

For additional questions please contact our customer service at 800-574-5729.

Happy Holidays!

Hi Judy – JPay offers email in select states, however if you have questions regarding letters, it would be best to visit the facility’s website to learn more about their mail process. Thanks!

Hi Richard – In most states there are JPay kiosks available where your loved one can read and reply to your emails. In states that do not have JPay kiosks, the facility would provide a print out of the email sent.

Hello I recently went to money gram to deposit money to my son and he has told me that his JPay account is current unavailable and he reported it. Is there a reason this happens or something?

Hi David – Inmates can not correspond with each other via JPay email. Additionally, we do not release any personal account information. Most state will have a dedicated resource to check your loved one’s account balance. We recommend visiting your loved one state DOC website for more information on checking your loved one’s account balance.
