For those of you with a loved one in the state of Michigan, your loved one can now purchase the JP5mini or the JP5s tablet. Additionally, JP5 media products including- stamps, accessories and music can all be purchased from the JPay kiosks located within each (MIDOC) facility.
Please be aware media credits are not available in the state of Michigan, which means only your loved one can purchase a tablet or stamps – you can’t do that for them. If you have any questions or concerns, we ask that you contact the Michigan Department of Corrections directly or visit their website for more information.
Effective February 28th, 2017, JPay will no longer process payments for the Michigan Department of Corrections (MIDOC), as the department has transitioned to a new vendor. This means that JPay will continue to accept payments for the Michigan DOC up to February 28th, 2017.
If you used JPay (online, mobile app, or phone) to send money, sent money orders to JPay, or if you’re a cash customer and send money from Walmart or MoneyGram®, you will no longer have access to these services.
IMPORTANT: Other JPay services – including email – ARE NOT affected by this change; you can continue to use JPay’s communications services normally.
Additionally, JP5mini tablets – which can be used to read and write email, listen to music, and more – will soon be available in your loved ones’ facilities.
If you have any questions or concerns, we ask that you contact the Michigan Department of Corrections directly or visit their website for more information.
