Inmates and Music to Their Ears

We all can easily recognize the positive effects that music can have on our mood and demeanor. Many of the inmates, who make up our prison population, are in desperate need of some positive reinforcement. The Irene Taylor Trust is one of the organizations, bringing inmates music, like they have never heard before…from their own talents. This company works with a close knot team of professional musicians, to help the inmates see their own potential. The musicians will work with a group of prisoners over the course of several days, teaching them how to read music and play an instrument. They generally work with the neediest, the long term, high security inmate. The work is privately funded and provides some much needed mentoring to these criminals. Many of the inmates, who become involved in the process, carry on in the music field, after they are released. Music in prisons is just one way to help these inmates to properly rehabilitate and leave prison to become productive members of society. If you know someone in prison and would like to be a positive influence on them, contact Jpay. Jpay is a trusted leader in inmate services, providing vital help to prisoners and their families.
